Advanced Computational Methods, Machine Learning and Applications in Borehole Geophysical Prospecting

Session Infomation

This session welcomes submissions related to mathematical physics modelling, fast numerical computation (forward and inverse), and machine learning for applications in borehole geophysics, oil and gas field development, geothermal exploration, urban underground construction, and mineral resource exploration and extraction. The aim of this session is to present original research in theoretical methods, mathematical-physical modelling, forward and inverse computational methods, interpretation methods, and especially in machine learning applications in solving multi-physics (electromagnetic, acoustic, nuclear magnetism, seismic) problems and the interpretation of subsurface resources exploration. Consequently, all research related to the subsurface and borehole exploration is warmly encouraged. It can include new instrument design methods and concepts, fast and efficient computational methods for complex models, fast joint inversion methods, inversion methods based on machine learning, data interpretation and processing techniques, and so on.
