Session Infomation

Semiconductor optoelectronic devices such as lasers, modulators, detectors, and the related apparatus are widely used in communication, signal processing, sensing, spectroscopy, and national defense, etc. The operation from near-IR to the mid-/far-IR (or terahertz) wavelength range has attracted intense research interests. This session is focused on the recent advances of semiconductor optoelectronic devices in the infrared frequencies, ranging from fundamental developments in new materials, novel physical/photonic principles, unique approaches or structure designs, diversify operating properties, to the advanced functionalities, which will lead to promising applications in integrated photonic circuits, 6G communications, Lidar, material processing, and chemical analysis, etc.
